I am an experienced and qualified Practitioner and I am dedicated to the promotion of a holistic philosophy.
I have been interested in holistic and complementary therapies for a number of years and have benefited from such therapies myself as part of a maintenance and preventative programme. I believe that we are a lot more than just a physical body and by taking a holistic approach to health care and keeping mind, body and soul in balance can only help with our general well-being.
My approach to health is an integrated one in that conventional and complementary medicine both have an important role to play and there is no reason why they should not be able to work together.
In 1992, I commenced a two year probationary period in Spiritual Healing with the National Federation of Spiritual Healers (NFSH) and was accepted as a Full Member in 1994 (Membership No. 7659). I have been practicing ever since and I am listed on their referral register.
In 1994 I commenced a one year course at Northampton College in Anatomy, Physiology and Swedish Body Massage and gained my International Health & Beauty Council Diploma (IHBC) in 1995.
In 1997 I undertook a one year Crystal Healing course and gained my Practitioners Certificate in Crystal Healing the following year with the Affiliation of Crystal Healing Organisation (ACHO).
In 2005, having already obtained the relevant qualifications in Anatomy and Physiology and Massage, I attended two further courses and qualified in Hot Stone Therapy Massage and Hopi Ear Candling.
My training does not stop there. I am always open to learning new techniques, enjoy attending workshops and researching new therapies.
Holistic Therapy
The definition of “Holistic” is to treat the “whole person”, mind body and soul rather than one particular symptom.
I always consult with the client before carrying out any treatment to establish if there are any contra-indications which might prevent you from having a certain treatment. You will be asked about any medical conditions which you are aware of, what medication you may be taking, your life style and your emotional status. Please note that holistic therapies should not be used as a substitute for medical treatment and you will not be asked to discontinue any medical treatment or medication you may be currently taking.
Whether you are looking for relaxation or are suffering from stress, a particular ailment, depression or feeling “run down”, holistic therapy can help your body’s own in built healing process to fight your health problems and help restore your well-being. It can also be used as a maintenance and preventative treatment to help with a busy lifestyle.
All the therapies can be used in conjunction with a number of other therapies and conventional medicine.
